Louise Carmichael

Louise established
Human Assets Pty Ltd in 2001 to address the public sector need for
consultants with a detailed knowledge and understanding of the business
of Government. Since the establishment of Human Assets, Louise has
worked with a broad range of clients across all tiers of Government
in the delivery of business improvement programs.
Prior to establishing
Human Assets, Louise worked as a management consultant for over
a decade. During this time she worked for Andersen Consulting, as
a business consultant, where she was engaged by a number of organisations
in both the public and private sectors, implementing change initiatives.
Her role entailed identifying business process improvements and
assisting people within an organisation to adjust to the process
of change.
Following her
employment with Andersen Consulting she worked within the NSW public
sector as an internal HR consultant developing policies and programs
to support the human resource direction of the Department and assisting
staff within the organisation to adjust to organisational restructuring.
Her HR consulting skills lead to her promotion to management and
business consultant with a commercially funded business unit within
the agency. In this capacity Louise conducted business reviews across
all tiers of Government, to assist public sector organisations to
improve their operational efficiency.
In addition
to working with individual Government agencies to achieve corporate
service reform, Louise worked on the development of the NSW Government’s
electronic marketplace, smartbuy™. In this role, Louise was
responsible for assisting Government agencies to implement the procurement
reform strategies required to facilitate the implementation of this
Whole of Government Procurement reform agenda.
Her work in
the public sector provides her with an excellent understanding of
Government reform initiatives and the legislative framework within
which organisations in all tiers of Government operate.
Louise has completed
a Master of Organisational Psychology at the University of NSW focusing
on organisational behaviour and change management. Louise has also
completed studies in Change Management from the Australian Graduate
School of Management (AGSM) and the Financial Management Program
for public sector managers. Louise has strong analytical, facilitation
and consultation skills with specialist expertise in managing organisational
change.
Our Principal Associates
Louise leads a professionally qualified and experienced team of
principal associates who manage client engagements. Our associates
are selected based on their qualifications and professional expertise.
All of our associates have had extensive management experience in
both the public and private sectors. This ensures that they have
a thorough understanding of the operations of the public sector
and the unique requirements of a Government agency. In addition,
it ensures that they have had exposure to private sector practices
enabling them to work with our Government clients in the delivery
of effective business solutions.
Our
Associates
In addition to our principal associates, Human Assets has a team
of associates who are engaged on a part-time basis for large client
assignments including bulk recruitment. Again, these associates
are experienced and professionally qualified in the delivery of
human resource management solutions. The majority of our bulk recruitment
professional associates are also qualified organisational psychologists
with expertise in designing and delivering assessment and selection
programs.
Our people have
extensive experience working in and with all tiers of Government.
Consequently, we have a detailed knowledge of the operation of Government
and the issues affecting our clients.
